catch data list & self genration number

In complaint sheet : I required ...
In A column : auto genrated no. If today date is 08 feb 2010 & complant no. 2. Then required auto genrate complaint no. required like : 08022010/02 First two digit date, third & forth is month & fifth,sixth,seven,eight digit is year after / no of complaint in particular date if complaint no.2.

In B column : Customer code.
In population sheet no of customers. More than 2000 customers list. Now I required if I / we press A then required all customer list which is start from A name. But here I want those customer code. Seleting by arrow / cusor.

I have attach sample file for your ready reference.

In D column
In population sheet (e column) esn_srno. One customer having 10 to 12 machine or more than also. I want only those engines of owner (BCDEFG customer name in column c2 or their code i.e A0128)

avk, it seems from your prior thread on this topic that you do in fact want to post this in the Access Forum - so apologies - I will move back to the Access Forum...

However, I would say that you would be best served amending your narrative to outline that you're looking for an MS Access based approach to your problem... as is it simply reads as an Excel question in the Access Forum !

Yes, I realised this as per my Edit - however - the point holds that nothing in your original post hints at MS Access ... you should perhaps be more explicit in terms of your Access requirements.

You are able to edit your post, you'll need to go to your first post and click edit.

Donkey suggested you retype your post so its more along the lines of needing help setting up something in access, I'd remind you that teylyn suggested that you look into the capabities of access and so some researech.

Just to give you some pointers, you'll be needing to research/ask for help on creating tables, forms and queries.

So as an example you said

You may re word this to something along the lines of:

In complaint table : I require ...
In field 1 : auto genrated number If today date is 08 feb 2010 & complant no. 2. Then required auto genrate complaint no. required like : 08022010/02 First two digit date, third & forth is month & fifth,sixth,seven,eight digit is year after / no of complaint in particular date if complaint no.2.
