    Excel rows into Access fields.

I have a spreadsheet that's 15000+ rows but only three columns. It's similar to an address book (about 1500 entries) so there are many, many repeated rows. (Column 1 = headings eg Name, address, address1, telephone, email etc. Column 2 is the details) I want to import these into Access where the fields to be Name, address, address1, telephone, email etc and all the details are inserted into the field rows.

Is there an easy way of doing this? I really don't want to go through them individually!

    Cheers

    J.

In Access, what's your primary key? I'm assuming it's an autonumber.

Though I'm sure there's a way to do it through ADO/DAO, you can always do this:

Make sure Access is sorted in a chronological way (Date, auto number, etc.. so your excel records dont mix in with your preexisting access records - NOTE: this should only be a problem if you're auto-sorting or have a filter applied to the table).

Copy an enitre Excel Column, paste it into Access (Ex. Name). Rinse and Repeat for each column.

    It should be that simple!

If you have your data in Excel, copy all the data and then in Access right click on the navigation bar and paste.

A wizard will pop up asking if your first row contains column headings.
