How to change the atribute of an access field

I have an Access 2010 database in which I need to change the attribute from text to attachment of a Field (PHOTO) which contains the location of photos, Access will not let me do it as it is a linked table. In the Excel's database from which the table was linked, how do I change the PHOTO field's attribute from the text to attachment?

You need to change it in the "other" database, you can't amend the table structure of linked tables in the receiving database it must be done in the master one.
