Hi All,
Once again I find myself groping to get out of a jam that I brought on myself. I was stupid enough to rename a few tables and forms... and needless to say Access didn't like this one bit. I hadn't realized how inter related everything is and I forgot that my queries and control buttons would get vexed in the renaming process.
This is the problem I now face: Due to that wonderful phenomenon called "beginner's luck" I had managed to put a control button on the Patients Form (of a Dentist Database) which opened an Attachments Form (of uploaded paint shop files showing a visual of patient's dental work). Although my dentist friend is not computer literate, she is very imaginative and asks for stuff I don't know how to do. After I finally figuring out how to do this, she then wanted to be able to press a button while entering data in the Patients Form and go to the patient's Attachments Form to upload her drawing. I had this working perfectly. The control button opened to the patient's attachments form because I had set up the form, and a macro with a where to criteria. However, now when the button is pressed it goes to the Attachments Form, but it doesn't match the PatientIDs. I'm sure there is a very simple explanation for this, but I am blind to it.
I have tried to upload an attachment to the database. Don't know how to do this. Do I have to submit the new thread for the attachment to appear?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you.![]()

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
Hope that helps.

Sorry about that. I thought that my problem was the "where to" formula... which it turns out I just corrected and have resolved my problem. And yes, it was such a simple mistake... yet it is so frustrating when you can't see it.
I am determined to learn Access. I love what it can accomplish. For years I was working with Excel and I loved that too, but now I see that relational databases are in a league of their own... it is very humbling to feel so stupid in the beginning... but what the heck... growing pains are what they are... so what if one has to suffer a bit.
P.S. I'll take a closer look at the forum rules

Gloria
