I have some worksheets saved in xls format that are real slow when I work with them. They have about 450 lines and 50 columns ( a third of them with SUM functions ), no macros. When I scroll down eg CPU goes up to 50/60% and it's too slow. I've installed OpenOffice and it worked fine (CPU from 0 to 6%).
I don't have any Google product installed, I've disabled showing page breaks and I've set Automatic calculation to manual (common issues that were pointed out on the internet ).
BTW my computer is a Core 2 Duo with 2Gb RAM.
Any help appreciated, I'm getting desperate with this ( I have to work with Excel 2007 due to licensing issues ).
Thanks
G'day and welcome to the forum,
I also got Office 2007. My computer is a Core 2 Duo with 512mb RAM running Vista Basic.
Its possible its an installation bug(s) ?
I have a workbook like that with 15 other sheets (with 4 graphs on the them) and it great with extra app running in the background. Runs OK not the best, sometimes the computer can not refresh the screen to well in and out of apps.Originally Posted by cduploc

Thanks RatCat for the reply.
I have tested it on another Vista PC (this time a desktop Core 2 Duo) and the result was the same.
