Corrupt File in Excel 2007

Hi, I've got an xlsx file which won't open. I don't have a backup of it. I get this message: Windows cannot find: "[path]" make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. Actually, that's different to the message I was getting before. It used to say "Excel found unreadable content in 'filename' Do you want to recover the contents of this worbook? If you trust the source of the workbook click yes." but that didn't work either.

Along with cell data and some macros, it's got lots of images which I don't have a backup of either. I've free trials of a couple of programs that are supposed to fix corrupt excel files but they fail too.

I don't expect it can be fixed, but if anyone has an idea of how i could possibly extract to save any of the data or images, it would save me a lot of work designing it all-over again.

Sorry, I've been hunting round for days for an answer.
