Averaging numbers within an Array
Hello
I have two columns (two vertical arrays). The first column is time, starting at 9:00 and increasing in one-minute intervals: 9:01, 9:02, 9:03 The second column is an array of numbers. Each minute has a number associated with it: 9:00 44 9:01 47 9:02 44 9:03 49 9:04 50 9:05 49 9:06 50 9:07 47 9:08 46 9:09 44 9:10 42 9:11 43 9:12 51 9:13 43 9:14 44 9:15 43 9:16 44 9:17 45 9:18 42 9:19 42 I would like to average the numbers in ten-minute chunks, like this: 9:00 47 9:10 43.9 9:20 etc 9:30 9:40 9:50 However, I do not want to do it manually. If I simply copy and paste the "AVERAGE(A1:A10)" from the 9:00 cell onto the 9:10 cell, I do not get the correct range of averaged cells. How do I increment the array index, such that the "AVERAGE" function looks at the correct range of cells? I hope that makes sense. Thanks! |

To just average every 10 cells in column B you could use this formula in E1 copied down
=AVERAGE(OFFSET(B$1:B$10,(ROWS(E$1:E1)-1)*10,0)) |
