I use the same functions (xlstrfun) as http://www.excelforum.com/excel-2007...or-2007-a.html and have recently migrated from excel 2000 to excel 2007. In that thread, the user mentioned "importing" the add-in.
I am trying to load the add-in into my excel 2007.
I go to excel options, manage add-ins, browse,
Then I browse to the copy of xlstrfun.xll on my PC and select it.
However the add-in then does not appear in the available add-ins list box.
Am I missing some action?
How exactly do you "import" the add-in.

I solved this.
I closed excel and rebooted the PC, and restarted excel and then followed exactly the same actions as before and now it works.
Easy in hindsight, but I have no idea why it didn't work first time.
