Cool Selecting Chart Series Values in Xl2007

Please Register to Remove these Ads

Hi,
I've recently moved "up" to Xl2007 and have a question about selecting series values for charts.
In earlier versions of XL I'm pretty sure I could modify the series values reference by selecting the series in the chart, highlight the series reference in the formula bar and then using control keys (e.g. CTRL+Shift+ Down Arrow) change the series values reference range.

In XL2007 trying to modify the series by using the control keys does not work and now I'm wondering if I'm just imagining that I could do this in earlier versions.

Two or three key strokes is much, much quicker than using the mouse or typing a new range.

Am I right, and this method is no longer available or just 'mis-remembering' ??

Re: Selecting Chart Series Values in Xl2007

I just tried what you described in xl2003. I can not change the range reference other than by retyping or using the mouse.

So for a series with this formula

=SERIES(,Sheet1!$A$2:$A$6,Sheet1!$B$2:$B$6,1)

I hilighted the reference marked in blue. But was not able to change it.

Thanks Andy,
I must be imagining things.
Would be a nice way to quickly modify series attributes though.
