I think this issue may have to do with a full clip board but I am not sure...

After working with copy and paste functions between one .xlsx to another; a final paste action results in a blank paste. From there if you choose to exit out of the doc and save, then reopen the doc, an info box pops that says something to the effect of: Excel found unreadable content in “name of spreadsheet.xlsx” Do you want to recover contents of workbook? If you believe it from a trusted source click yes.

If you click “no” it does not open.

If you click “yes”, all previous formatting goes away or changes with no rhyme nor reason, such as font, size of font, colors, italics, etc., for the whole doc. Very frustrating. You cannot retrieve the original doc after that point.

A second info box pops that says something to the effect of: Excel was able to open the file by repairing by removing the unreadable content. It list four repair records. I will send a scan of the repair report if you think this might help.

These issues started happening after I started using MS Office Excel 2007…

Any advice would be much appreciated.
