Hello everyone !
Does anyone know how to solve the following problem:
I have set of data arranged in a following order
some text
Table
some text
Now i need to enter data into the table without disturbing the third row (some text). When i enter new data in a table and klick 'enter' i need the table to expand keeping the previous formating, AND move everyting whats below the table one row lower (add a new row)
I was able to do so in excel 2003, and cant figure it out in 2007
Thank you in advance for any help
Hi dbosak,
welcome to the forum.
How did you do it in Excel 2003?
In Excel 2007 you can define a table by clicking "Table" on the Insert ribbon.

I believe you're talking about the "DATA > LIST" feature.

Hello,
Exactly! Before I could get it nicely done with data -> list feature. Every time I added a data to the list, everything that was below would shift one row lower. Now with tables it doesn’t work that way… is there any way to get it done ?
Hello again,
I was trying to come up with some alternatives. What I have on mind is I can arrange my data in a group (with that little ‘plus’ symbol on a side). When entering values in a certain group I would like that group to automatically expand (add extra row within certain group). Is that possible ?
Thank you !
Whereas in an Excel 2003 list, a new row would be opened up between the last row of data and anything underneath the list as soon as a cell within the list boundaries was selected, the Table in Excel 2007 does not do that anymore.
I find that you need to insert a new row underneath the table. Then add data into that new row and the table will be expanded into the new row.
