Running macros on a protected sheet

I'm sure there's a way but I can't find it. I created a form in Excel 2007 that tracks clients, what they owe and what they've paid. It's a pretty basic design. I also created a macro to sort the names. All works as planned. Recently I wanted to password protect the sheet to disallow inadvertant modifications of the formulas. I set the cells to be unlocked and accessible. However, the sorting macro no longer works. I get a message telling me that the cells are locked and read only. What am I missing? I cannot find anything to explain how to hangle this particular combination of functions.

Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance. Atreyu

    Roy,

First of all, I want to thank you very much for responding so quickly.

Judging by the page you referred me to, two things are abundantly clear. One, I was hoping that there was nothing more complicated than an option click or two but it seems that there has to be work-around programming built into the macro. Secondly, my knowledge and experience with VBA or whatever else is required is severely limited and I don't fully understand what is needed or how it's done.

Also, the demo page link doesn't work.

    Thank you again for trying.

    Atreyu
