Sorting by multiple filters in a database

I have been converting my music collection to MP3s, which equals a lot of MP3s. I use these songs when writing, etc. and decided to make a database so I could easily sort through the multitude of music when I wanted a specific song for a specific "feel." Anyway, I made the database by converting the columns into a table, which then has drop down menus at the top. Under "Genre", I sometimes have multiple genres (for example "Classic Rock, Hard Rock") but when I pull down the Genre menu to sort the database, it will show the following text filter options:

    Classic Rock
    Classic Rock, Hard Rock
    Hard Rock

So, basically, is there a way to have a database entry have multiple sorting options (like multiple tags)? Thanks for the help!

You could have a column for each genre, and put an x in each applicable column.

    Then filter on multiple columns.
