I am working on creating a historian of manually collected process data, in excel. This data is collected from the field, on a PDA, and downloaded to a computer as a .csv or .xlsx file, about 9 times a day. What i am hoping to do is create a macro, or something of the like, that will import the data from the new date file and have the data added to a list and not overwrite the provious records, possibly with a command button. I wish to make the compiling step as simple as possible. we would porbably run this macro each time the data is collected (so ~9 times a day) is this possible? any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks
To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.
If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.
Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
Hope that helps.

i have attached the "data" sheet that i would like the records transfered from, as well as the "historian" sheet that i would like the records appended to.
Thanks for your help!!
