Excel 2007 Not Responding (Pale grey screen) following CUT & PASTE, then SAVE

Hi - I have a speadsheet which is Not Responding (hanging) with a pale grey / white screen. This follows the simplest task which is saving following cutting and pasting a formatted cell (coloured fill) from one to the next.

    System Spec
Excel 2007 running on Windows 7 Home Premium Ed, running on Parallel Desktop on MAC.

I read somewhere that it could be due to:
    1. Basically there can be a conflict between the 64 windows and the 32 bit Office suite. The only clues I really saw as he wiz-banged around the screen were the use of an Office Hybrid 2007 file and him changing the "XLSSTART" folder to "XLSSTARTOLD" .
    2. Clipboard causing the problem possibly solved by a change from DDE Server to Active-X Control

I am not techy enough to make these changes and need a step-by-stel guide.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    David

    Dear Sir,

I appreciate that I unintentionally posted in two categories, but in the first instance I was unable to Close the first which I realised was in an inappropriate category - there appears to be no obvious way of a user Closing a thread. There appears only to be a Solved, which is why I selected it an included an explanation in the edit. Since both threads in the incorrect and correct category were Closed by the administrator, I opened up a new thread in the correct category. It is unclear why I am not able to ask this question if both original threads were closed. How will users be able to respond to the thread if it is labelled closed?
    Thanks/David
