Smile Find and replace - custom formatting help

Hi, I've got a problem that I believe excel can handle but I do not know how to go about doing it.

I'm trying to find all numeric, numeric instances and replace the comma (,) to a hyphen (-). For instance: If a cell looks like this:

1,4 billybobby walks, the dog ...... then I will want to change it to

1-4 billybobby walks, the dog .......the comma stays between "walks" and "the" but is changed to a hyphen between "1" and "4"

    any ideas?

    Thanks.

The SUBSTITUTE formula can do this. Read up on it.

    =SUBSTITUTE(A1, ",", "-", 1)
