    Thumbs up V Look up highest value

    Can some one advise the function to V look up from sheet 2, letter A and paste it into sheet 1 with adjacent value from sheet 2.

    See sheet attached

    Help much appreciated

    try this in A1
    {=MAX(IF(Sheet2!B1:B9=B1,Sheet2!A1:A9))}
    Ctrl + Shift + enter not just enter

    do not put the curly brackets in { } you need to use Ctrl + Shift + enter and they will be entered

    Again thanks for the help. The value being returned though is 135000. It should be the highest value in the column for A which is 120000.

    are you sure there is an "A" in cell B1 or a "B"
    I changed it from B to A
