Thread: Lookup

Is it possible to look up a cell on a closed workbook by just entering for example, a job sheet number?

eg: In one cell on an invoice, enter 1158 (In reference to Job Sheet 1158)

Other cells on the invoice automatically look up particular cells from Job Sheet 1158 using the number entered.

At the moment I have to change the job sheet number in the formula each time...

'F:\.....\Job Sheets\[Job Sheets 1158.xlsx]STOCK'!$J$1
'F:\.....\Job Sheets\[Job Sheets 1159.xlsx]STOCK'!$J$1

If the file from which you are obtaining the info is closed, usually the info doesn't pass through.
