    dropdown list

    Hello,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction for a tutorial about drop down menus and such.

In picture one you can see my main excel page. I have circled the $2.50 stake but there are a total of 5 different stakes. The second circle is tells how many games i have played at that stake.

In picture two you can see my data input page. There are two drop down menus. One with the 5 different stakes and the other with numbers 1 - 30.

    What I want to do:

I want to select a stake in my data input page via the drop down, then I want to select how many games I have played also via drop down (i could just type it too). This information should automatically transfer to my main page and added to the "games played" under the corresponding stake.

Hopefully I could make myself clear enough to get some advise.

    Thanks in advance

    Paul

    That looks like Data Validation
    Hope that helps.

    Hi, tnx for your respond.

You're right, it is data validation. But I only get as far as producing the drop down lists. I don't know how to point the information selected in the drop down lists to their corresponding cells on my other worksheet.

As you can see in picture 1, there are 5 different stakes. If I choose $2.50 from the first drop down, the number of games I choose should transfer to the "games played" cell with the same stake.

I'm thinking now...I probably need to do this from the sheet where I made my "Named Range" to create the drop box.

    Well, I'm still trying things.

Still hoping to find the correct tutorial
    tnx

    Wow! you work fast

That's pretty close. If I change the stake from $2.50 to $8 in cell C5 of the date input sheet, the info should change to the $8 stake (cell F12) on the main page too. Now it just says #N/A when I change the stake in cell C5.

The $100 profit/loss in cell G5 of the input sheet should transfer to cell J6 of the main sheet if I select the $2.50 stake and to cell J12 if I select the $8 stake...etc for the other stakes.

Thanks for your effort, it's really appreciated.

    Re: dropdown list

I finished it myself as best as I could. I guess it does the job that I want it to do, however, there has to be a way to use only one input column for all different stakes.

    finished workbook attached
