    8 series, need 2 x 4 bars 100 % overlap ?

have graph with 8 series, 20 values each
when I overlap bars for 100%, all 8 series will be overlapped to 1 single bar (for 20 points)
I need 4 series to overlap, not all 8, showing 2 x 20 bars on graph
Is this possible or do I need to arrange data in other format ?

    Roland Willems,

it's pretty hard to picture what your data is and what kind of chart you want to display.

With charting, a lot depends on how the source data is arranged. It would be much easier to advise a course of action if you could post a sample workbook. Make sure to replace all confidential data with dummy text or numbers and post your file.

    cheers,

    attached simple version of graphs
    instead of 3 parameters, I have 20, meaning 4 measures, 4 x 20 single bars, or 20 single bars 100 % opverlap.
In this example 3 bars with 100 % overlap of 4 measures, where I need 2 x 3 bars with 100% overlap of 2 measures.

    Hello,

what you've drawn manually is a clustered stacked column chart. Excel does not offer these out of the box, but with appropriate data layout and a bit of work, they can be created.

Jon Peltier has a tutorial here

    cheers,
