    vlookup and sum

How would I automatically determine the names in common between the two tabs named Lunch and Dinner and Get the total of the orders from the Dinner and Lunch tab for each food item . Also if the name is not common it also appears on the Total List with the food total order.

Use the consolidate function that is built into Excel. Here is an explanation on how to use it.

Here is a video but it is for EXCEL 2002. Works the same except for the location of the Consolidate Icon

Note: In the video, he uses the dynamic linking. If you want a static report, do not use the dynamic linking

    Re: vlookup and sum

Consolidate worked perfect when the columns were right next to each other. But how would I add the total of Columns A and C for the two tabs in Lunch and Dinner without matching the name as the reference in the total.

For that scenario, I would opt for Tom1977 solution
