In Excel 2007 - we are having issues with the legend font size getting smaller and the color of the legends entries changing from the color they were set - when a different user saves the file - even if they set up the same custom color palette. Anyone know how to fix this?
Not sure about either of these, but I'd suggest checking the font being used. If it's not a true type font, and the other user doesn't have that font installed, it may be a substitution happening rather than just a size change. Also check to see if the workbook is being saved in compatibility mode which also is known to modify formatting. Failing both of these, try running a detect and repair on Office.

We are having to save in compatibility mode - we run data through the report files I'm writing about - how do you get around these issues? -As for now we have to keep it in compatibility mode due to the number of users and the conversion rate to 2007 throughout our organization...very frustrating to set branding - then have it wiped out. Font is Arial Narrow by the way - so it's OK - we already had that issue under consideration...what are your thoughts?
Did you try running a detect and repair on Office? If that fails, you could develop a macro which will select the chart object on save and change its font. Not elegant, but should be workable. The drawback of course is that users would have to have macros enabled, which across an enterprise can a flood of irritating questions from end users.

We are testing your suggestion....but because of our volume and this effecting over 100+ reporting files...we are hoping for a quicker fix...we're looking into the possibility of getting rid of the "save in compatibility mode" but are not sure we'll be able to mandate this happening - thanks though! let me know if you think of anything in addition to the aforementioned![]()
