Is there a way to list the relative page number of when speciFic data is entered within one worksheet?
I have created a family tree of sorts in one worksheet. The 65+ page worksheet now contains more than 1600 members and over 530 different surnames. I would like to create a table of contents listing the page number of when a surname enters the family tree. I know how to pull of the surnames but I cannot determine how to find its relative page number. There must be a better way of doing this besides hardcoding the page number of occurrences whenever we want a hardcopy of this family tree printed. We are creating a family directory for an upcoming reunion.
I can find info on how to do a table of contents for all the worksheets within one workbook but none within the same worksheet. Excel 2007 does not seem kind to adding VB code. I found some code somewhere to try but Excel is not letting me. I am a novice at VB. I do not believe hyperlinks is the answer to my situation.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
Excel does not offer that functionality out of the box. As a workaround, you could manually create the TOC list of names, then manually add hyperlinks to the desired cell for each name.
cheers,
