Red face Populating missing data in one row with data from another

Hi there, I need help quickly! I need to combine data in a worksheet.Originally, I had two worksheets. They have the user id and email as their common columns. I needed the name from one worksheet populated into the other. Well stupidly I copied the information that contained the user name, pasted it to the bottom of the sheet that doesn't have the name, then sorted on the user id (common field). I've been manually typing the name and then deleting the duplicate row! I have 1600 rows and I need this done like and hour ago!
Can anyone help me with the formula to populate the user name and then elimate the duplicate row?
    Frustrated rusty Excel user!

It might help to prepare a formula if the workbook was available ...

Probably too late for your deadline but all you need is a vlookup. Use the formula wizard and it will walk you through it. You only need one common field so user id sounds perfect.
If needed paste a small section of your file/s using dummy data and someone can do the formula for you.
