This is my first post so I hope somebody can help me.
I have Excel 2007 but one of my spreadsheets (that used to be on a pre-2003 version) has become unstable.
All of the drop down indicators on any cell with 'data validation' applied has disppeared completely!
If I "right click" in a cell, I can still select from the list but the little arrow to the right of the cell is not showing. Yes the "in-cell drop down" box is checked but I don't know where else to look.

On a copy of the file you could try unchecking the 'In cell dropdown' option. Save and close the workbook.
Re open and apply the 'in cell dropdown' to see if it returns.
