I have a question that is driving me crazy, no doubt it's something simple I am overlooking...
I am trying to have a series of sheets withing a work sheet where the cells are populated/linked back to data entered into the first sheet in a workbook. The problem I am having is that the data is not displaying properly like it has for me in the past.
in a worksheet I have multiple sheets. The first sheet is called "CUSTOMER INFO SHEET"
in cell F4 of the "CUSTOMER INFO SHEET" is used to enter in data related to the name of a customer.
in a seperate sheet named "SERVICE QUOTE WORKSHEET" I am trying to get cell J1 to display whatever text is written in F4 on the "CUSTOMER INFO SHEET"
='CUSTOMER INFO SHEET'!F4 what displays after I link the cells. How can I get it to desplay the actual data in cell F4 rather than listing the name of the sheet/cell?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi dancor,
If you want to see the information from other sheet but want to avoid any linking formula, you can use Camera tool to achieve this scenario, see the following link:-

Is this happening to all the formulas on that worksheet? If so make sure you have the "Show Formulas" option turned off, otherwise all your cells will show the formulas themselves rather than the results. This is an option in the "Formulas" tab, the keyboard shortcut is option + ` (a backtick, generally just below your escape key). I hope this helps.
So I guess there is something funky in Excell every now and then (I am sure there is a specific cause) that makes the formula display in a cell rather than the result of the formula. I found that if you choose to "find and replace" "=" it somehow corrects it. No clue how or why but it works.
Anyone know the cause?
Hi dancor31,
If you see the formula getting displayed in the cell and not the result then might be you have enabled the formula view (ctrl + `).
Press the key combination once again and you can get to see the results
Note:- The key on the above of Tab key is '
