All of my "header?" row labels are alphabetic instead of numeric

I hope I have my terminology correct here. When I open Excel, on the worksheet all the "rows" on the left side are in alphabetic format instead of numerical. Has anyone seen this before? I cannot figure out how to change the "rows" back to numeric. Usually I can find solutions out on Google, but I can't find any leads this time. Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!!!

Hi Kit, welcome to the forum.

I know you can have "numbers down the left, letters across the top" (A1 notation) or "numbers down the left, numbers across the top" (R1C1 notation), but I've never seen where the letters and numbers are switched. In Excel Options > Formulas > Use R1C1 reference style switches between the two options.

If that's not the issue, do you have some odd regional settings, such as a language or country that might use alternate directions of data entry?? Perhaps take a screenshot and upload the image here..
