    Up and Down Arrows

    I want to be able to have an up or down arrow show in a cell next to another cell to show whether a new value in a that cell is greater or less than the previous value in that cell. Can anyone help please?

    Thanks, martindwilson. I realise that coding will be necessary but how does one do it? I can't find any examples in the links you provided.

    Re: Up and Down Arrows

    You could use conditional formatting fo this. If you set it up right, it will put an up, side or down arrow inthe cell that contains the value.

    Little hard to explain, but here goes...

    set new CF rule - "format based on value"
    "edit rule description" - format set = "icon"
    "icon style" = 3-arrow
    "type" = "number"
    "value" = the number you want to compare to

    Play with this, I got it to work on a simple comparison, hope it works for you
