Using Excel 2007.
Scope:
Trying to take lists of project names from several other excel files and list them in one file, in one column, with no duplicates.
My Solution:
A "projects" worksheet which lists the projects from each of the other files in every other column. Then a pivot table on the main worksheet which refers to multiple ranges, one for each of the columns (requires minimum of two columns, which is why they are on every other column) referring to a different file.
My Problem:
This was working fine near as I could tell, however, the refresh command on the pivot table no longer adjusts it to include new values. I don't believe I made any serious changes to the program. I made a new pivot table with the same ranges, and it recognized the new data, but now refuses to recognize subsequent new data.
Any idea what's going wrong with it? I am also open to more efficient ways of achieving my scope all together.

I suppose I should add that since I am using multiple ranges, excel does not let me view the ranges I am referencing. However, when I created the second pivot table, excel suggested to me that I base it off of the first one to save memory, because they had the same data ranges. I refused this suggestion.
Check the ranges for your pivot table/s. Chances are that your new data is outside the range?
yes I did, sorry, I read it after I posted
