Thread: Configure Quantities with Formula?

I work for a fence company that sells fence panels in several standard sizes. As of now, we have to do drawings during the quote phase to figure out the best configuration of panels with the least amount of waste. I want to bypass the drawings at the quote phase and use Excel to figure it out.

I need help in figuring out if Excel is capable of doing the following:

Our standard panel sizes are as follows:
• 95”
• 75”
• 60”
• 35”
• 93”J
• 73”J
• 58”J
• 35”J

Here is what I need to do: If we have a fence run that is 24’-5” long I need excel to look at that list of standard panels and tell me what quantities work best. For instance, (2) 95” , (1) 75”, and (1) 35”.

Is this possible?
