copy and paste problem in excel 2007 (win XP)

when I paste on new worksheet, Picture Tools comes up and won't let me work with data. The cross symbol comes up and moves the data. What to do?

Can you attach the workbook or a screenshot of the same?

Is it from another worksheet in the same workbook, or a different workbook? If the latter, are you 100% certain it is within the same Excel instance? (i.e. if you click Switch Windows on the View tab, do you see both workbooks listed?)
    Good luck.
