    2008 List Feature

In 2007 it's called Tables. I use tables because it automatically carries formatting and formulas to the next row by simply going to the last cell in the table and pressing tab.
In 2008 it's called Lists. The list feature doesn't seem to do this. Am I correct or is it done differently than with the tab key?

Did the 2008 developers collaborate with previous developers at all? Have they ever used previous versions of XL? Compared to 2007, 2008 is a pain in the ****!

I must say this is about the only thing I regret about using Mac and it's because of Microsoft.... the reason I choose Mac.

    Re: 2008 List Feature

    Well smninos,

Those are big words and if you were right then you would have a point. Unfortunately I do not know if you are right as I'm using MS excel 2010 (on XP) and it is still called Tables and work just the same as XL 2003 (Skipped XL 2007).

The Table is created, One can add Total Rows with the normal SUM, AVERAGE, etc. options and if I press tab in the most right column of the table it adds another row, just like you state.

With the 'new' design ribbon you can even change the layout of the table very easily.

    Re: 2008 List Feature

The MacOffice developer team is not the same team that does the Windows versions. I haven't tested lists in 2008 yet as I try to avoid using it at all due to the lack of VBA. If I remember I will have a look when I get home tonight (I think I still have it installed). Does it not happen automatically as you start typing in the new entry row?
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

    Re: 2008 List Feature

It's nice to see that the feature remains in the newest version of XL.....

No, rompstopmer it doesn't happen automatically which is why I posted. To see if maybe I missed something.

    Re: 2008 List Feature

Your post says that it doesn't happen automatically when you tab from the last filled row. I asked if it happens when you start typing in the data entry row (which it should if you have set the list up correctly). These are not the same things, which is why I asked...
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
