I started creating a workbook in 2004 but had to change to 2008. As I continued working in 2008, (It IS backward compatible isn't it?), I started getting a *LOT* of XL crashes and hangs.
Thanks to several people on this forum, I realized that I had a corrupted workbook.
So, I copied and pasted the 08 sheets into a NEW 08 workbook. After recreating my NAMES, everything seemed to work well.
But, I now notice that everything is incredibly S L O W W W W W W W W and the 08 WB is now grown from 350k to 16 mb!
My app is pretty simple. I have about 20 rows of data by 20 columns. This raw data is summarized in 3 pivot tables. PT1 is the original and the others (PT2 and PT3) are based on PT1. I have destroyed and recreated the PivotTables. No help.
I also have a graph that is based on PT2. It works.
One weird thing is that when I started the 08 app, I was asked about LINKS to the old WB. Since this is a stand alone app, I selected "UNLINK".
Could this have something to do with the size?
How do I get my app back to it's previous smaller size?
Thanks for thinking about this....
