Dear All,
A relative novice to Excel - so apologies.
I have 2 worksheets that i am working on. Each has differing amounts of information and the order is not the same
Worksheet 1 = names in column 1 (about 1500 - some similar - this is not a problem)
Worksheet 2 = the names in column 1 plus variable cost associated with the name in column 2.
What formula can i use to look up and match the name in Worksheet 1 with the name in Worksheet 2 and bring the associated value in worksheet 2 to worksheet 1?
I would really value your help on this - i have been trying but failing.... i was going to go down the lines of
=if(b3="China",Assumptions!$B$4 etc etc - but this is very time consuming with the different country names.
=VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!$A$1:$B$1500,2,0)
Will find the match on sheet2 in column-A and, if found, return the value from column-B of the same row on which the match occurred. Adjust the worksheet name and cell ranges in the formula to reflect the actual sheet name and ranges on worksheet 2.
