Excel is reading all numbers as dollar amounts

I'm trying to enter the figure 3600 but Excel won't accept it. It changes it to 3600.00
How to I get it to accept the figure I want?

Click on the cell, hit Ctrl + 1 will take you to the formatting screen, Number Tab, select number, and change decimal point to 0

Thanks JieJenn but now I have a new problem. All my old figures display on the right side of the cell but the new ones I'm entering are all showing up on the left side.

Try align text right. (There is might be a possibility that you formatted the entire column as TEXT format). Highlight the column where all the data are entered, and reformatting the column to either number or general.
