Hello all, I am a very basic user and am setting up a new sheet to keep track of my time spent on freelance jobs. I add a new sheet each month, and here's basically how I have the columns set up. Column F is D*E.
A B C D E F
Job Name Date Returned File Length (minutes) Rate Time Billed Job Total
ABCD 1/26/2012 22:18 1.50 23 34.50
On average I enter about 400 rows each month, each separate job getting a new row. What I am trying to do -- and I'm not sure it's even possible but I hope so -- is to the right maybe in column H and I create a list of each day (listed in H) and the total minutes billed corresponding to those days in I. So something like this:
A B C D E F G H I
Job Name Date Returned File Length (minutes) Rate Time Billed Job Total 1/1/2012 65
ABCD 1/26/2012 22:18 1.50 23 34.50 1/2/2012 72
1/3/2012 53
1/4/2012 46
1/5/2012 0
1/6/2012 99
... and so on continuing down. I am trying to stick to my daily goals of a minimum amount of work, and having the running totals would make it much easier to know how I am doing. If anyone could help me in setting this up I would be forever grateful. I've tried reading online about functions and I am really lost. Thanks! :D
Hi
if your dates are in column B and hours in column E, this formula should return all the hours worked on the date in cell B2
=SUMIF(B:B,"="&B2,E:E)
I just copy this to the start of each day and good to go.. just what I needed, thank you so much!
