What is the best way to visually display this data set? (Advice)

    Hi All,

I need some advice on the best way to present this set of data. I was asked to create a visually appealing and professional chart (less "cluttered") using the data included in the workbook. Specifically, I need to create a chart that shows the number of schools, classrooms, children, and capacity across various levels (1-5) that are receiving after-school services and compare it to my agency's entire network (what % is afterschool).

My first idea would be to create a chart which included stacked lines per category (example, a stacked line for Schools, Children, Classrooms, etc. separately) that is associated with each level and would have the % at the end of each line.

    Example: example.PNG

But, I am having difficulties ensuring that each category is "stacked" separately. For instance, when I select "stacked" all of the categories are stacked in one line per level as oppose to 4 categories lines per level. Can someone show me how to perform this task? I have attached the workbook which includes several of my attempts.

Also, do you believe this is the best way to present the data in a more streamlined dynamic fashion? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

It looks to me like you are looking for a clustered and stacked bar chart. I would suggest the following tutorial: http://peltiertech.com/clustered-sta...mn-bar-charts/

Thank you for your suggestion. I am, however, having a difficult time following with Excel 2013. I am having this same issue with most of the tutorials found online (example: https://alesandrab.wordpress.com/201...arts-in-excel/ ).

As a late adopter, I'm probably not going to be able to help much with the nuances of Excel 2013 (your lucky that I'm familiar with 2007). It would probably help if you used Jon's or Alesandra's tutorial and asked specific questions about the step or steps where you are stuck. Then someone who knows how 2013 works will know exactly what steps to suggest to perform that task in the tutorial.
