    Filtering a project managers tabs

I have 30 tabs of the same sourced pivot table, but have 10 different project managers. I have project manager as a field name, but was wondering if there was a way to insert some type of filter at the beginning of my file where a project manager could select their name and only their tabs would show up. Currently, each project manager has to manually scroll through and find their project. Hope that makes sense.

    thanks

The ability to automatically hide tabs it not built-in but you can do this with a macro. How do you tell which tabs are for which project managers?

Re: Filtering a project managers tabs

Each tab has a project manager field tied to a project number. I label the tabs with the project number so when I email out the file, the project manager has to scroll through every tab to find their project. I was hoping to insert some type of filter on the 1st tab so the project manager can click a button to only show their tabs. hope this helps, thanks for responding.

Re: Filtering a project managers tabs

sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I can't send my original file (too big and confidentiality reasons), so I created a smaller file, with the same question.

the system won't let me attach my Excel file, but I did include a picture of the tabs showing the projects and an example of what is in each tab.

multiple tabs have different project managers, but I was hoping to have on the first tab some type of filter where they could 'click', or select their name, which would then only show the project managers tabs that get selected.

Another option is to use HYPERLINKS.
Create another sheet (MASTER LIST, maybe).
Create a list of all the tabs (project numbers).
Turn each into HYPERLINKS to that tab.
Add a column for Project Manager, with filters.
Each Manager can then filter for their own projects, use the Hyperlinks to navigate to each.
If you also put a hyperlink back to the MASTER on each tab, it makes navigation quick and easy.
    Hope this helps!

Attaching a sample workbook enables others to work on your problem:

To attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include BEFORE/AFTER sheets if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.
