Calculate average of multiple columns and display as new column

    Hi,

    I have columns of data which is organised by subcategories (e.g. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3.1, 3.2). The data of each subcategory is numerical.

I want to group the subcategories together and calculate its average, and display the average on a new column. This means that the average of the subcategories is the category. Also, I need to display it in the form of a chart or table in a way that the user can easily filter through between categories and subcategories. How can I do this with Excel?

Appreciate if someone can help. Thanks!

Send a sample of the data (file) and show what you want to achieve

    Hi,

I feel that what you are asking for is possible. However, in order to provide a working solution I would need you to provide a (sanitized) working copy of your file.

    Cheers
