What Chart to Use for Survey Work

    Hello everyone

I wonder if anyone could help me.

For part of my university dissertation I got people to complete a questionnaire.

I have managed to insert and code all of the data into Excel and create simple little bar charts showing the percentages. However, my professor has suggested to make the results more interesting I should maybe create comparison charts to show for example the differences between male and female respondents or old versus younger.

I have spend ages on the internet looking to see what the best charts to use for comparison purposes would be and I am no clearer. Also I have put the results of each questions on different sheets, how what do you do to create a chart to compare answers

I am using Excel 2007, please help.

    Thank you

As you can see from my attachment I would like to for example say how many seniors surveyed agreed that criticizing their workplace on social media was a disciplinary offense (they selected c in question 3) compared to Generation Y people. If that make sense I would like to show this on a chart form.

You can combine questions, like i did.

See the sheet data (yellow cells).

After that you can also make an pivot table and chart of it.

    The rest is on you.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I will need to look up some youtube (or other website) videos to learn how to do this, is it how to use VLOOKUP I need to look at and then how to create pivot tables, sorry if these seem like silly questions

You have to do the job.

If you have questions during this job, just ask.

Just show us the effort you made yourself to come to an result.

There are no silly questions, if you are willing to learn.

I will have a look at the spreadsheet you have worked on and together with Youtube, hopefully learn how to do this.

I am very willing to learn as this piece of work is important to my future.

    I will come back if/when I get stuck .

    Many thanks
