Hi all,
I have an area chart with 5 series in it. I would like to include data labels on the last entry of each series only.
I know that you can include data labels for the whole series and then delete those individual labels that are not required but that seems like a bit of a long-winded way of doing it.
Is there a more simple way?
Thanks,
Remove the Category X Axis and use a Category X Title, positioned under the last data item, but you will need to hard-enter this and re-position it each time the range expands, it is not dynamic from the cell.Originally Posted by robotmannick
Another possibility is to have the data cells reflect a value in the last cell only, but this is really no more simple than entering the range in the last cell and deleting the prior one.

Just click the fifth data column in the first series, this will highlight all the five's, then right click, Format Data Series > Data Labels, then tick values

Bryan: Yes, I thought of this idea and I even thought about using a standard text box, but as you point out they're not dynamic so will be in the wrong place if the scale changes.
oldchippy: I think I understand you correctly, but because I'm using an area chart, I can't select individual data points...
...however, that did give me the idea of changing the graph type to a line graph, selecting the individual data points and adding labels to those points only. Once I'd done that, I changed the graphs back to area types. It's still a bit of a work-around, but it does the trick.
Thanks for the thoughts chaps.
