Unhappy One chart from two sheets' data

    Hello-

I want to create one chart from 2 lists in the same workbook.

Sheets A & B both have a list of the same names ranked from 1-223.

Sheet A's list is ranked by volume (to be plotted horizontally)
Sheet B's list is ranked by percentage of sales (to be plotted vertically)

I'm not sure how to create a chart like that from two separate sheets.

What I'd really like to do is chart it all on another sheet in the workbook, where the words go into a cell (the intersection of volume and percentage). This chart would be a square of 49,729 cells. Once plotted, I would color-code the sqare into 4 different quadrants.

Hope that makes sense!?! Your expertise is appreciated!!!

    Something a little simpler?

Thank you so much for the reference. However, I can't get that to work for me. What about this:

    A B C D
    1 Joe 1 Bob
    2 Bill 2 Fred
    3 Fred 3 Bill
    4 Sue 4 Joe

How can I create a chart where columns A and B are the x axis and C and D are the y axis?

    THANKS!!!!!!!

    Hi,

sounds like you need a grid (or Index) to drop the names into rather than a chart, but the attached may be a pointer.

I understand that the ChartLabeller that is a free add-in from http://www.appspro.com/Utilities/ChartLabeler.htm will enable you to label each bubble.

    Yes!

Thank you!!!! This has gotten me so very close. I was going about this a little bit backward. The bubble chart attachment helped GREATLY and I thank you. I have a couple of little issues.

    1. How can I make the bubbles smaller?

    2. I am dealing with 250 names. How can I make the entire graph larger, in order to be able to fit them all on it legibly?

    Thank you again!

    Hi,

the bubble size is the 2 in column D, set this to whatever you wish. to make the whole chart larger just click on the Chart area (not the Plot area) and click-drag the borders to the size required, although 250 names could be a stretch.

note, I have not used the addin, but if that will correctly lable the bubble, then you might like to test removing the bubble fill and border, to just leave the name.
