    Charting default "" as zero

In a data set I have formulas that will give a result of "" if the lookup is false. I would like these to not chart as 0, which is what it is currently doing. I have had charts in the past which if there is no info in the cell the line just stops. For some reason I cannot get it to stop it just defaults an empty cell or "" on formula to a value of 0. How can I stop this?
