    scatter plot

    Simple I'm sure
    I have two sets of data;
    1. Standard deviation
    2. Percent return
    I need 1 plot to line up with a value on the y axis 'Risk value' (stdev) and its corresponding 'return value' on the x axis value. Stdev must be on the Y axis.
    There are 5 plots (series)
    Two problems.
    1. I'm getting two plots for each series (1 for each value) instead of 1.
    2. I cannot change the axis around ) x should be y and visa versa.

    (Series) Return (x axis) Risk (stdev-y axis)
    Composite Property 10.69% 8.98%
    Property CBD Office 8.65% 11.45%
    Property Retail 13.68% 5.24%
    Property Industrial 11.85% 7.38%
    Shares 14.25% 18.18%
    Bonds 10.04% 7.50%
    Listed Property trusts 13.92% 11.39%
    Any help would be great!
    Cheers.

    Pretty impressed with the quick reply!!
    Although not quite what I was after.
    There are 7 series (plots) that need to be represented as different symbols/colours ie;
    1.Composite Property
    2.Property CBD Office
    3.Property Retail
    4.Property Industrial
    5.Shares
    6.Bonds
    7.Listed Property trusts
    And the Risk (Stdev) needs to be on the x axis (I said y axis I know)
    Sorry - I'm not very good at explaining.
    Thankyou again for your assistance!!

    Are you using Excel 2007 now?
    I could not figure out how to change the legend.
    I could easily do that using Excel 2003 by indicating location of cells.
    Thanks!

    I did this using Excel 2007 as guessed. The legend titles were entered manually.
