Thread: line chart.

Hi

I have some data from a heart rate monitor, which is my heart rate every 5 seconds. I want to graph this with a line chart.

I am struggling because the data is not in a single column or row but in a grid. So each heart rate is very five seconds and the each new minute is in the next row.


e.g.

65 70 85 80 87 80 87 68 89 88 87 56 54
55 68 89 88 87 56 54 80 87 80 87 68 89

So I just want to plot all this in a line chart so I can see how it looks, the actual data is for 90 mins so there is alot of figures.

Unfortunatey you encoutered the exact same problem I did, the graph ends up with many different series on it, when in fact it is just one series, which is 'time'.

The chart should have just one line, (all be it very long) as all the data is incrumental, its all just 5 second intervals.

The other way I thought we could get round the problem is turn have a way to turn it into one long column, but my lack of excel skills, are not helping me to do this, without a very long copy and paste.

This is just one heart rate reading, I am going to be comparing many different ones. so the copy and paste isnt really applicable.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

One last point is the time increases by 5 seconds each reading. I would like it to be displayed as minutes and seconds, rather than going to 100 seconds if you see what I mean.

Just to prove Im not totally thick, I have worked out how to do the time, in the proper increments.

Still would like to know a method of copy all the data in a row.

I hadnt noticed that it was formulas in the cells.

The water was pretty high a couple of weeks ago, but luckily didnt do any damage. (this time) last year all the office down stairs was flooded. Not all bad, we all got shiney new computers from it.
