    Scatterplot

    Hi,

I am trying to get the attached data plotted in a scatterplot, whereby there is just one data point shown for each label name (1,2,3 etc etc). I have managed to get the graph to do this, however, I also need to either show a legend with each marker as a different colour corresponding to the data points on the graph or the label next to each datapoint (perferred option if possible). When I try to do this all I get is "series1" next to each point.

    Any help, much appreciated.

    Thank you.

The quickest way is to select the range B2:C40.
Create a xy-scatter, which will give you 1 series.
Double click the series and on the Options tab of the format dialog check Vary Colors by point.

This will give you the Legend option.

To give each point a data label with the correct text you can use this free add-in to assign data labels to cells.

Or if you create the xy-scatter and select Plot by columns you will get 39 series but none will yet have a cell linked to give it the name of series. So you would need to use the source data dialog and update each series.
    Cheers
