    Plot points on Area Chart

    I have an area chart showing BMI Ranges and I want to be able to plot specific values for a person. I've attached the spreadsheet and a pic of what I want it to look like. Obviously the points on the chart will form a horizontal line (because height of an older person doesn't change)

    Add another series to the chart.
    Change it's chart type to xy-scatter
    Set the X - To {1}
    Set the Y value to =C1
    Add X error bar with a value of 300
    Format x error bar to suit.

    Thanks for the reply and the file. I'd like to know how to do it myself and I can't figure out how to change that data series to scatter could you explain that more please. This gives just a horizontal line, which now that I think of it is nice, but is there a way to mark individual points on said line? IE a Current BMI point?

    To change the chart type you just need to select the new series and use the menu Chart > Chart Type.

    Instead of using a x value of 1 use the current BMI value. You may need to adjust the error bar values to make the line cover the plot area.
