Hi All,
I'm here again with another concern. I would like the legend to be presented deligently and clearly. Even when I am having a line chart, I want the legend to have like a small rectangle so that I can fairly distinguish the colors.
Right now, I have like 15 series in one chart, and the legend colors are very thin. I can barely distinguish the colors.
How can I achieve it, which settings?
I appreciate your ideas.
Many thanks,
Neil
In order to have a legend with blocks rather than lines you will need to add extra series to your chart.
These extra series will need to be changed to Column charts. No need for any data though.
The existing legend entries that are lines will need to be removed from the legend.
At first I thought this is impossible. But your post is very inspiring. I just could not grasp the idea right there.
If I have 20 series in the chart, does that mean that I have to add another 20 extra series? Or I just need one extra series? Can you please post a sample one.
Many Thanks,
Neil
You will see 2 charts.
First is simple Line/Column combination with lines removed from legend.
Second has an extra line which is retained in the legend. Notice the column legend keys are more distorted.
Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for your reply. I am just curious on your example, because the color of the legend does not match the color of the series. Is there any way we can make it matched?
Thanks,
Neil
You have to format the columns Fill color to be the same as the Lines Border colour.
