First I would like to say thank you for the great help I received from this forum, especially from Andy Pope. I dont know why my thread from July 7 is not here any more, but anyway - the answer I received was of great help.
The last time I had problems with presenting the results of a Likert-Scale in a graph, showing values for such things as Very important, Important, Neutral etc. Now I know how to "cut" the "neutral" by half - but if I want to show the results of two different likert-scales side-by-side in a graph (please see the attached sheet), I get a different picture.
Could anyone help me with this problem?
Because you are already using the secondary axis for the pad and neutral series the second set of data is using the wrong scale.
Just keep your data in a single table.

Woah. Thanks again. I think it will take some time until I get the whole picture...
One final thing: When I flip the graph and the bars are vertical - the label for "neutral" disappears (see attached file) ... and I cannot bring it back. Any ideas?
That is because you have not moved the neutral or pad series to the secondary axis.
You will need to move both series and then change the chart type to Stacked column.
Also adjust the seconady value axis to have Min=0 Max=200

Regarding the graph with the two sets of data: when you put all the data (from two series) in one table, the bars are all looking like the same (colour-wise; despite from the fact that they can also have different labels.) If I want to have the bars of the first series in blue and the second series in orange, I have to colour every single bar of one of the series seperately (as they are in one table with one set of labels - they all have the same colour).
I guess, there is no solution for this.

Do you have any suggestions what to do with the legend? The current legend cannot be posted somewhere in the graph - it is totally misleading. Is it possible to create a "fake legend" which shows the correct colours/descriptions?
You remove items from the legend so it is more meaningful.

But in my case, you have two series in one graph with TWO DIFFERENT labels.
For example:
Very important, Important, Neutral, etc. vs.ver
Very satisfied, Fairly satisfied, Neutral, etc.
(see above: 650293a.xls)
My problem is then to create the correct sequence:
Not: X Unimportant X Less important X Neutral X Very Important ...
But: X Very important X Important X Neutral ....
Then add additional series that have the correct names in the correct sequence.
No need for this series to be displayed on the chart, only in the legend.
Or use another chart along side this complex one which you simply use dummy data in order to get the required legend.
