That is, what you see is what you get?
I have Excel 2007 w/ SP1 and an old but working HP LaserJet IIP Plus printer. The printer output resolution is 300 DPI.
Compare the printer output with what's in an Excel file (both attached).
Why am I not seeing what I should see?
CHART1 is a snapshot from Excel.
CHART002 is a scan from a printout from my laserprinter.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Looks like the DPI is too low and the print drivers are not coping to well with rendering the sloping lines.
Can you raise the DPI?
Please take care with your thread title in future.
Nope. Fixed. But that shouldn't be the issue. The issue is the position of the sloping lines, not the resolution.Originally Posted by Andy Pope

What method are you using to create those lines?
Did this work in previous versions of xl?
I simply added a simple line to a complex pie chart, as shown in the attached.
I've used earlier versions of XL, but I don't remember if it was fine then. I don't have another version of XL to compare.
I think the descriptive term is dithering. But that applies to color, not black and white. Changing the color of the lines have no effect.
